Current loyalty programs are institution specific and are limited in where/how points can be spent. Most programs focus around air travel, consumer goods and gift cards and some allow points to repay loans/credit cards. Only major corporations are also able to be partners. The objective is to democratize loyalty programs within financial institutions and their ecosystem partners, such as retailers, telecoms and utility providers. Examples of financial institutions who have these programs currently are ScotiaBank with Cineplex, RBC Rewards (Avion) and TD Rewards. Ecosystem partners are Air Miles, Petro Points, PC Optimum or Best Buy for example. 

The financial institutions and their ecosystem partners would benefit by having higher rates of engagement with consumers, insights into the usage of points, simplification of their operations and transparency between the consumer, financial institution, and ecosystem partners. Smaller partners would also be able to participate. This could either be in the form of something completely novel, or improve/enhance existing programs available.

Your task is to create a platform that should deliver a frictionless experience to the consumers on how they can earn, redeem (various options), exchange, donate, and buy loyalty points with awareness of the economic value and associated conditions within the banking ecosystem. This should be a B2B (business to business) solution and would be implemented by the financial institutions.
